4800 tons of rice has been exported to Europe through the Kuldipsingh harbour in the last few days. The rice was brought in large sacks (big bags) from Nickerie to Paramaribo, where it was stored in our client Ramadhin’s warehouse. The rice was then transported from the Ramadhin company warehouse to the Kuldipsingh harbor, and immediately loaded in the ship. The ship’s crane loaded approximately 12 bags of rice at a time.

During loading the big bags were opened, so loose rice (thus without packaging) was placed in the hold of the ship. This way more rice can be transported per shipload. This is the first time that rice has been exported through the Kuldisingh harbour. It is now the intention to export rice every two months.
